For herself, Jones doesn’t necessarily spring for a new outfit, but she accessorizes. “I like to get new pieces and parts,” she said. Although she likes a festive appearance, she has to be dressed and ready at the course at 7:30 a.m. and doesn’t leave “til 9 p.m.
“Whatever you wear has to not show dirt and not wrinkle,” Jones advises. She, of course, likes to wear a hat: “That way, I don’t have to worry about my hair.”
Remember, this isn’t the Nascar circuit — unless you’re a working groom, very few people show up in jeans. Even grooms tend to fancy up a little as the stakes get bigger and the season progresses. Pressed khakis, a button-down shirt and a tie look good on horsemen or fans.
