expects the utilities to handle 1,648 homes in this service area. It was this service area that triggered the realization there was more here than meets the eye.
Most people at the meeting were from South Wales in Culpeper County, with a few from Rappahannock County. In the comment period afterwards, some favored the development. Asked if South Wales residents could join a proposed recreation center and use its tennis courts and junior-sized Olympic swimming pool, Centex noted it depended on the number of such South Wales paying customers.
As to when a house would be available, the answer was in 3 1/2 years. There was also a comment that South Wales looked forward to the centralized water and sewer facilities, as South Wales utilities were 50 years old.
Judging from the applause after a pointed comment on the loss of quality of life due to Centex’s impact on the whole area, most people seemed to be against the Centex development.
The Centex presentation was focused on what Centex was planning and not about development by other developers in the whole Clevenger’s Comer area.
