The traditional May Pole dance was held Monday afternoon on May 2. This annual event depicts thfe celebration of springtime with colorful streamers, flowers, food and music.
The community is invited to attend the Mother’s Day concert at Hearthstone on May 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 at the school on Rte 211, 2 miles west of Sperryville. Day School
Head of School Kathleen Grove this year introduced the tradition of celebrating May Day at Wakefield Country Day School, aided by WCDS teacher Lori Perry, who organized the event. The celebration was launched on Monday morning with a May Pole dance by WCDS fourth and fifth graders, two May Day songs, one sung by PreSchool, PreKindergarten and Kindergarteners, and the other by First, Second, and Third graders.
The Sixth graders also participated by distributing leis to the younger children, and they later visited the Lynn Care Center with their
