Blubaugh’s dedication to his education helped him become a part of the Society of Yeager Scholars, the only scholarship at Marshall University that requires students to compete against one another in an application and then interview process.
Named for U.S. Air Force Brigadier General (Ret.) Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager, scholarship recipients .must maintain a rigorous course load and a 3.5 grade point average and participate voluntarily in campus activities.
Only a handful of students are selected each year to receive the four-year scholarship that includes full tuition and fees; full room and board; study at Oxford University;, a stipend for textbooks and supplies; $4,000 for an additional study abroad experience; and the use of a personal computer while enrolled in the program. According to Marshall University’s scholarship guidelines, “The Yeager Scholars Program is designed to give outstanding students enriched opportunities to further develop their skills and abilities.”
