For the past five years, I

have served as chairperson for the "Relay for Life” Cancer Survivor walk in Rappahannock County.

Each year we face three facts: There will be new survivor victims to register, we may loose sonu one who was a part of our survivor family, and we have those who are battling this dreadful disease to the point that they can no longer participate in the walk. The bright side is that there are many who come each year, rain or shine, and keep the hope flowing for the new survivors and yes, we draw strength from each other. As long as this list is growirtg year after year, there is still much to do in finding a cure for cancer My survivors range in age from 17 < a young man who is already a 7-vear survivor1 to the age of 70.

The survival rate ranges from one month to 30 plus
