Fiesta del
Pueblo
The Hispanic Committee of Culpeper will host Fiesta del Pueblo, a town party, at the downtown train depot on Friday, May 6th from - 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. All Culpeper residents and neighbors are invited to come enjoy a taste of Latin culture, from music and dance to food.
Human service agencies will be represented at the festival, providing information in English and Spanish about the services that they have to offer. Families will have access to information about schools, health, WIC, financial support, domestic violence, mental health, social services, and many others. The Mexican Consulate will be there to answer questions about obtaining an ED.
May 6 will be a fun day for all, with various types of Latin music filling the streets of Culpeper all afternoon. For those who have never danced to merengue, salsa, or bachata, this will be an ideal opportunity to come and see how it is done. Hispanic crafters will be available, selling their wares. There will be a variety of foods for purchase, both Hispanic and American.
The Fiesta will be a great day for children! There will be pi)>2atas, games, face-painting, stories, and other activities.
There will also be plenty of bilingual volunteers available to interpret for both Hispanic and American guests. All families in Culpeper and the surrounding area should keep the date open and plan to visit and participate in Fiesta del Pueblo. Bring your own chair and enjoy the day! It is the first of many downtown Culpeper parties this summer. Come see why Culpeper was voted one of the Tbp Ten Small Towns in Virginia!
