Preliminary hearing for Waymon James Edwards, Jr., 29, of Warrenton has been set for May 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the Rappahannock County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Edwards was arrested April 19 on seven charges in Rappahannock County including sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and taking indecent liberties.
Preliminary hearing for Edwards has been set in Fauquier County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on June 13 at 10:45 a.m. He was arrested on April 13 on a charge of “animate object sexual penetration” by the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.
Drug arrest
According to Sgt. George W. Southard, Jr. of the Warrenton Police Department, Robert Eugene Rector, 36, of Amissville was arrested on federal indictment April 18, charged with conspiracy to distrubute cocaine.
The arrest, along with arrests of three Warrenton men, stemmed from an investigation conducted by Warrenton police, members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Blue Ridge Narcotics Task Force, and U., S. Marshals.

Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint on April 26 that sometime during the previous night someone had written on the Amissville Post Office windows and doors.
While there are no suspects at this time, the Sheriff’s Department has increased survelience in the area. Three county chase
A group of 15 motorcycles entered Rappahannock County on Route 647 Sunday afternoon, traveling approximately 70 miles-per-hour.
The group split once in the county, some taking Fodderstack Road and others traveling Route 211.
Virginia State Police Trooper Derrick Mauck attempted to keep pace with the bikers, but was unable to maintain the chase toward Skyline Drive on Route 211 West.
After radioing ahead, a Virginia State Police trooper in Page County was able to stop seven of the riders, giving all traffic citations.
