Min Jurnak
My mother, Min Jurnak, was a Navy nurse. My father, Andy, was a mechanical engineer. During WW/II, he tried 10 times to enlist. Each time, he would get on the bus at 6 a m. but before leaving his name would be called and he was asked to get off the bus and was not accepted because he was told he was needed at home to make airplane parts. Mom finally assumed that they wouldn t take him, so she enlisted and served her tour of duty. My father was never able to serve.
