Motor vehicle exhaust contributes to the formation of ozone pollution. Ozone pollution levels are highest during the period between May and October when higher temperatures and increased sunlight combine with stagnant conditions associated with air pollution. Our efforts during Clean Commute Day can help reduce the amount of pollution we put into the air. We all can help to participate in Clean Commute Day, by walking, biking, carpooling, taking public transit, and using an alternative-fueled vehicle to get to our workplace. Let’s keep the air we breath clean.
