Congo is fascinating and informative, and at the least would make a good starting point to further explore African history in more academic sources.

Readers will learn about life in The Congo and the King James Bible, about army ants and mangwansi beans and a million other things that will grab your brain the way they must have grabbed Barbara ‘ Kingsolver as she wrote. Read it and learn while you laugh, grimace, and occasionally throw things , possibly at Paris Hilton.
