Panther golf standout Jacob Dodson represented RCHS at the Region B tournament at Shenvallee Golf Course in New Market, VA for the fourth straight year on Monday October 3. Dodson shot an 83,coming in at 20th place in a field that was extremely competitive. The overall winner of the Region B tournament, Jacob Singleton of William Campbell High School, shot a 69.
“That would have beat me any day,” said Dodson.
' Dodson’s score failed to qualify for the state tournament, meaning that Dodsons golf season is over. While this is a disappointing end to his high school golf career, the senior had a positive attitude about the tournament.
“It was a perfect day to shoot a good round, I just didn’t do as well as I expected to do,” said Dodson. Jacob had reason to be optimistic before the tournament, which he qualified for by shooting a 77 at the Bull Rim District Tournament the week before.
