Truck full of beer

ditched on 211

8:20 p.m. October 2, Sunday.

The Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue squad were informed of a 1994 Ford Ranger that appeared to have been in an accident and was sitting in a ditch alongside westbound US211. Rescue responders at the scene informed Virginia State Police that the vehicle appeared to have been abandoned after the accident. Trooper Derrick Mauck investigated and found that the vehicle, which is registered to Tina Jenkins of Page County, had lost control and rolled once before coming to rest in the ditch. Several cases worth of beer, including both emptied and full cans, were found in the vehicle and State Police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident and subsequent abandonment of the vehicle. This incident is still under investigation.
