Anyone who came there in those days remembers his hundreds of portraits of Rappahannock men, women and children adorning the walls. They somehow playfully captured the bright side of the souls of his subjects, begging the viewer to linger over them, thinking warm thoughts about how nice it would be tolcnow these people in the pictures.
But this showing is of the land, not the people of Rappahannock.
It’s a local display of a local artist’s selection of local landscapes. Their captured bucolic moments remind the viewer what pleasure there is to be had in Rappahannock. County in just stopping and looking around.
