But even then, the panel could not choose between two favorites, so they devised a second test. Riders were to canter one of the event fences, a “doghouse” on the infield, halt, jog a downhill coop, and halt within one and a half strides before crashing into, or jumping over, a gate and brush.
Penn Park nailed it. “He halts from a ‘whoa,’ “ Deal laughed as she explained her strategy “I knew he would shine.”
