Fauquier County
has addressed the
problem
The folks in Fauquier County have been able to convince the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DFIF) that they have had enough. In Fauquier, when deer season comes in, you can take bucks or does, all season long.
I did my best to try to get the DFIF folks to consider that for Rappahannock, but to no avail. Instead, they have given us a crossbow season. Perhaps, next year they will placate us with a season for blowguns, spears and knives.
Archery Season
When they started the archery season, years ago, I was a big supporter. It takes skill and it takes a lot of practice to be consistently successful with a bow that you must draw and hold and release, in the presence of a big game animal.
