President Mike Leake was on hand all day on Friday helping dish up hot dogs and chib and extending a warm hand to all those folks who came by for some good food and lively music.
Burgers ‘n Things was there along with plenty of hamburgers and homemade chih and vegetable soup. There was also a good supply of drinks, assorted chips and desserts and all were encouraged to just keep on eating.
There were plenty of smiles all around as everyone helped celebrate the bank’s birthday.
A white tent sat prominently outside the bank along with John Anderson’s 1926 Cadillac that has been lovingly restored by his brother, Loring Anderson.
“The blue matches,” beamed Loring Anderson as he pointed out the signage on the bank that matched the royal blue of his brother’s vintage caddy.”
There were also plenty of white goody bags given away as of way of saying “thank you” for all the years of support.
Richard Brady and his Shenandoah Travelers filled the air with great bluegrass music while many local residents enjoyed a great day.
“You’ve outdone yourself,” said one patron to Leake as he went for seconds. “This is great.”
