Rappahannock County, where he became manager of Eldon Farms, a 7.500 acre farm owned by the Lane family of Northbrook, 1L. At Eldon Farms, Mr. Oliver oversaw a large forage and cow/calf operation, currently consisting of over 1,800 head of cattle.
Mr. Oliver has been very influential in the success of the beef cattle industry. He has served as president of both the Virginia Cattlemen’s Association and Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association. In 2005. he was appointed to the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board by Mike Johanns, U.S. Agriculture Secretary.
Over 70 of his neighbors and colleagues attended the party, including Lane Industries corporate officers.
