The leaders of Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, announced that it has received a $2,300 “Arts in Education” grant from prominent international retailer Target to support Summer Workshops 2006. This vital support will allow Headwaters to present its seventh year of arts workshops, in which public, private and homeschooled students entering grades two through eight are offered the opportunity to broaden and enrich their academic and artistic horizons. The workshops engage children in high-quality, hands-on activities taught by instructors with expertise in both their subject area and in teaching children.
Target is committed to making a positive difference in the community by supporting education for children across the country. Target gives back over $2 million a week to education, the arts and social services.
