At Monday’s meeting of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors, County Administrator John McCarthy reported that the county received a single bid of $675,040 to build a track with an asphalt surface at Rappahannock County High School. McCarthy elaborated that some costs could be reduced and fuel estimates may be higher than what they will actually be.

McCarthy summed up the financial situation, saying “we can squeeze maybe $300,000 or $350,000 from the budget, but we can’t squeeze 600,000. If you do this, you will add two cents on the dollar to the real estate tax levy.
