The Rappahannock Athletic Association and Rappahannock, Culpeper Baseball (RAA/RCB) members were gearing up on Saturday, November 5 at Stuart Field in Amissville.
This was their first Annual Fall Fun Fair.
The field was abuzz with excitement, not from baseball like every other Saturday during the year but with the sounds of fire trucks and delighted children enjoying the moon bounce. While the children jumped for joy their parents had an opportunity to leisurely browse through the festival taking in all that the crafters had to offer.
Saturday’s weather fully cooperated with warm rather than traditional chilly November winds blowing gently. It was a gorgeous fall day with colorful leaves everywhere. Organizers couldn’t have asked for a better day to have their festival.
The co-chairs of this event were Amissville residents Nancy Shuck and Amy Hitt . They were busy setting things up * 1 getting the various vendors organized. Hitt was quite adept at eating her hamburger while making sure that everything was going right that day.
There was music playing throughout the day which provided a relaxing background for residents to spend their time socializing and searching for that perfect buy. * Jimmy Benkleman of Amissville took the kids on a hay ride all around Stuart Field. Many of the grownups wished that they were young again seeing all those incredible smiles on the youngster’s faces.
Holiday fare
Local girls Wendy and Becky Cordani had a selection of beautiful Christmas wreaths to grace any holiday door.
Another highlight of the day was Scott Tummeyer from Front Royal with his scented candle assortments. He offered a large selection of fragrances. Tummeyer has been making candles for four years and aims to please. If you didn’t see what you were looking for, give him a
