Public Works Programs

The Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill this full-time management position responsible for directing and managing the Programs activities for the Division of Public Works. Successful candidate will develop stormwater policies, plans and programs to comply with federal and state mandates; identify requirements and develop programs for acquisition of stormwater easements and wet pond agreements to meet defined objections; execute plans/programs for stormwater mapping, stormwater illicit discharge detection and elimination; and stormwater infrastructure inspections & maintenance. This position will also oversee VPDES Phase II Permit compliance activities of various County Departments & agencies and execute plans and programs to acquire easements and agreements to support stormwater construction and maintenance of other Public Works activities. Education and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related field with at least two (2) years experience in a Public Works or comparable organization. Prefer two (2) additional years administrative management experience. Possess a valid appropriate driver's license. Subject to calls 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Professional Engineering Registration desirable. Successful candidate will undergo a driver's license check. (Hiring Range; $46,461 - $78,055/yr) Closes: 11/18/2005 06-188.
