It’s important to get the facts straight about Tier III designation, which simply restricts the permitting of new or expanded sewage treatment plants that would dpmp directly into the Hazel River. The Tier III designation does not prohibit all development, and does not require landowners to use best management practices or grant public access. Importantly, it is also not a mandate being handed down from Richmond or Washington, but just the opposite: an opportunity for us to take action to control our own destiny.
