Crowe captures the essence of a decent, honorable man with a backbone of steel who is simply trying to provide for his family the only way he can. Asked during his comeback why he would risk injury in the ring at his relatively advanced age, Crowe ducks his head, pauses, then utters a single word: “Milk.” Yes, we have to think long and hard to remember that there was a time when American sports superstars were not loud-mouthed, mefirst contenders.

“Cinderella Man” is an uplifting story of heart and willpower. It’s rated PG-13 for boxing violence. Runtime is 144 minutes.
