Peyton Anderson, a nephew of Mrs. A.C of Amissville has just returned to the states after spending three years in Saigon. Mr. Anderson is ' with the Headquarters Military Assistance Command and is a housing officer for personnel in Aide, Embassy and Command. Though he is stationed within hearing distance of the exploding artillery in Viet Nam, there is little that he is able to tell about the situation. The present leader of that country is the umpteenth one they have had since his arrival there, and though he leaves much to be desired, he is doing a reasonable job of holding the populace together. He does say, however, that many of the news pictures are misleading for the people are emaciated because of dietary deficiencies and they wear as little clothing as possible in the hot climate. Mr. Anderson did assist with the restoration of the embassy after it was bombed in March. Of the country, he says, “The rural people live primitively, doing all of their work by hand or with small tools. There is little or no mechanization. They live mostly on fish and rice which they
