Engineering Assistant

Loudoun County's Department of General Services is seeking a qualified applicant for this full-time, regular position in the Public Works Division. The successful candidate will assist in responding to stormwater complaints; analyze complaints to establish infrastructure owner & determine easement & bond status; prepare location maps for inspectors; ensure complaints are satisfactorily resolved & data is properly documented & maintained in established automated system; support emergency response activities by tracking labor & material costs associated with County emergencies for submission for state or federal reimbursement; and provide for extended manning of the Department's Response Center during emergency operations. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to associate's degree with major course work in surveying, civil engineering, construction management, or related field and at least 2 years of directly related experience in surveying, civil engineering, land records recording and research, stormwater management, or related fields. Must possess a valid driver's license; possess the ability to lift 50 lbs.; and must be available occasionally for duty beyond a normal work day including, but not limited to, responding to County emergencies.
