dreaming up more ways to report the death toll to bolster their thinly-veiled anti-war, anti-Republican sentiments. (We have, in “reverent” silence, photos of the slain; we have the drumbeat of the statistics of how many died today, this week, this month, “The 2000th”, since the invasion completed, since the war began, etc..) I am more weary of listening to transparent politically-motivated attacks, which our “responsible” media will only report “evenly, to be bipartisan”, instead of-examining. I would prefer to raise the entire discourse to an objective consideration of the FACT of where we are now, and the merits of the options open to us, rather than blind attack OR defense of current policies.
But, Congressman, I do not believe you have furthered that discourse by your untimely, and incomplete, remarks. I do not believe a political solution, that is, one inspired by gain for either the Republican or the’Democratic parties, will serve this country well in the long or the short term.
