for going into Iraq, the whole world “knew” Sadam had WMD; it was a component of the administration’s argument, but an honest one, not a “lie to deceive the American public.”
I personally believe that Saddam’s WMD program, funded by Oil-for-Food abuse and technologically cultivated to portability by ten years of playing games with U.N. Weapons Inspectors, is in Syria. We probably know that, but do not say it because the administration understands that until it could be irrefutably proven to partisan demagogues (if then), the result will only be more accusations of deception.
Hitler’s Propaganda Minister said that a lie repeated loud and often enough will be believed, and our media and the Democratic Party are exercising that theory. Your conclusions, unfortunately, align themselves with those propaganda efforts; it is reasonable, even if it is untrue, to conclude that your remarks are the consequence of your party affiliation rather than your logic.
