Appalachia Project
through December 16
The Rappahannock County High School freshman class is participating in the Appalachia Project through December 16. Donations of new and unwrapped mittens, gloves, blankets and socks can be dropped off in the school’s library media center. Students will box these items and send them to the less fortunate who live in the Appalachian regions of Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee.

Garden Club taking orders for
Christmas Greens
The Rappahannock County Garden Club is taking orders for its 2005 Christmas Greens. This year the club is offering two styles of decorated wreaths, Colonial Christmas and Rappahannock Holidays for $75, plain boxwood wreaths for $25, mixed green wreaths for $20, decorated swags at $25, table centerpieces at $30 and garland at $4 per foot. All products are hand made by Garden Club members and feature the freshest local greens and natural decorations.
The sale of the holiday greens is the major fund raiser for the Garden Club and the funds raised go toward scholarships for local high school students, Nature Camp sponsorship and community beautification projects. The Greens Workshop has been an ongoing effort for over 27 years.
