Come one, come all, Sunday December 11, the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will be hosting a luncheon with Santa Claus. The luncheon starts at 12:30 p.m, right after church lets out, so there is no reason we all can’t stop in for some good food, fellowship and of course a chance for the children to not only sit on Santa’s lap but also to have their picture taken with him.
While there is no age limit there is evidently a weight limit, as Santa has already stressed to me that there will be no repeat of the last time we met. He said something about his back being sore and having lost some circulation due to last year but I think he must have been just kidding. I mean how else could you tell him you want an Easy Bake oven, without sitting on his lap? Sure maybe I did get a little excited but I do not recall running over and jumping on him like he tells it, I may have sat down a little hard but not jumped. The stories people will tell!
