From Page A5
Taylor and her church family purchased large quantities of coloring books, toys, school kits and hygiene kits. These proved to be a huge hit with the children, who Taylor stated were “happy with whatever you gave them.”
.A typical day for Taylor was an early rise, followed by a breakfast of fresh fruit and pop-tarts. She would then help set up the compound for the day ahead. As the children began to arrive, she would entertain them by playing games and distributing the gifts the team had brought. At the end of the day she would help clean up, eat dinner and relax. One evening she was lucky enough to go to a live performance by ‘Carpenter Tools’, a well-known Christian rock band in the area.
It wasn’t all work for Taylor. She did get to see some of this amazing Central American country including a trip to Antigua, a large colonial city, where she purchased crafts, jewelry and beadeditems handmade by local people.
