If you have never been to see the dogs in the Rappahannock Shelter, you are in for a heart-LIFTING experience. Be forewarned, however: you just might not go home alone. The Shelter is located on Route 639 just off US 211 at the county landfill in Amissville, Virginia. It is open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every day except Wednesday and Sunday. Also note that the organization’s webpage has photographs of many loving animals that are waiting for adoption. See www.rawldogs.org and be prepared to be tempted.
