Department Auxiliary yard sale

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be having a fundraiser yard on Saturday June 17 at the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department starting at 8 a.m. There sure be something for everyone.

June 17: Mentoring Training

Call for volunteers: men and women who enjoy being with youth, who can meet the requirement of a minimum of two hours a week, and for those who want to make a difference in the life of a young person. Call Carol Lucking, Starfish Mentoring coordinator, at 987-7204. Next training- June 17 at the library or by appointment.

June 18: Father’s Day

celebration at Gadino

On June 18, Fathers and Franc - Father’s Day celebration at Gadino Cellars offering Dad’s a FREE tasting of the 2005 Cab Franc in the barrel room. Other family members will be charged $2 for barrel samples and light finger foods in the barrel room. Chocolatier Marc Ast of The Frenchman’s Corner (www.frenchmancorner.com) will serving samples of his Belgian Neuhaus Chocolate. His chocolates will be for sale in our tasting on this day as well. Bring a light jacket as the room is chilly. General Admission is Free and Open to the Public. Wine Tasting $3 to include logo glass Hours are 12 noon to 6 p.m. Don’t miss these events! Treat Dad to breakfast on Sunday, June 18, from 7 a.m. to 11 am. at the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. Cost will be $7 for ages 12 and up, $4 for ages 4 to 11, and children under four are free. Sausage, bacon, biscuits, eggs, pancakes, coffee, milk and juice will be served. Father’s Day breakfast on Sunday, June 18, at Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will consist of eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, home fries, fried apples, French toast, juice, coffee and tea.
