Two of the more highly regarded teachers at Rappahannock County High School will not be back in September. Each is leaving for a different reason - but both hope to return in a few years.
Eighth grade Spanish teacher Hector Torres is going home to Venezuela, where he will be the vice-principal of a school. Sr. Torres, who admits to being “a little” homesick for his wife and two children, would like to come back in two or three years, with his family. “If I could teach at Rappahannock High School, that would be great”, he said, adding, “I have been teaching for 22 years, teaching is my life.”
In addition to teaching Spanish, Torres also served as the assistant coach with Bob Czekaj for the junior Panther Baseball team.
