Farm Fair

The members of the Rappahannock 4-H Livestock Club have been preparing since January. Come out and support them! Caroline Massie is raising three market steers in addition to showcasing hogs with several other members and Samantha Falls will be showing market lambs for the first time. Come see their projects at the Swine Show on July 27, the Sheep Show on July 28 and the Beef Show on July 29. The Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises is located in Route 29, south of Culpeper.

Committee yard sale

The Annual Yard Sale of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee is not that far away - August 26th. Now is the time to look around the house to see what you’d like to donate: small furniture, holiday decorations, kitchenware, videotapes, how-to books. The fund-raiser yard sale this year will feature something new: a collector’s comer, our own boutique for the very special items. Summer Camps at Belle Meade

Belle Meade Day Camp located at 353 F.T. Valley Road in Sperryville will be offering summer fun for boys and girls 6-13. They will have five twoweek sessions, July 3-14, July 17-28, July 31 - August 11, August 14-25. Camp activities include swimming, canoing, hiking, arts and crafts, archery, informal sports. Belle Meade Swim Camp has three one-week sessions: June 5-9 for 3-6 year olds, June 12-16 and August 28 - September 1 for' 4-8 year olds. Arts and Crafts Camp

Arts and Crafts Camp gives children the opportunity to spend a week working on unique projects with a professional artist and percussionist Janet Kerig . The location is the Pavilion at the Rappahannock County Park across from Little Washington. The emphasis is on creativity, fun, games and the great outdoors! The multi-media experience includes: tie dye, basket weaving, paper making from plants, watercolor painting, sketching, bead work, beeswax candle making, Cherokee plant prints on scarves, plant identification, natures walks and drumming! The goal of camp is for children to express themselves freely and to provide an atmosphere that nurtures the young artist, improve their hand skills and to give them the techniques to improve their sense of color, form and materials. Hours are Monday thru Friday 9am to 3pm. Sperryville Pottery Clay Camp

Registration is beginning for the Sperryville Pottery’s Summer Clay Camp. Weeks are June 2024, July 25-29 and August 8-12 for kids ages 5-11, June 27-July 1 for Advanced kids 5-11, and August 1-5 for Teen Throwing. The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department is seeking young ladies and young men between the ages of 1-21 to compete for the following titles: Little Mister, 1-8; Tiny Miss, 1-4; Little Miss, 5-9; Junior Miss, 10-15; and Miss Honorary Fire Chief, 16-21. The Little Mister and Tiny Miss are new categories this year. Contestants will be selling tickets on the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado Pickup.
