did. Oh, and sorry there won’t be a pig roast at the next one but hamburgers and hot dogs should be in good supply along with ice cold soda! Church holds outdoor
service
The Chester Gap Baptist Church held their regular Sunday service at the site of the new church grounds this past Sunday. There was a modest crowd in attendance with some folks staying home due to the heat which honestly wasn’t all that bad...as long as the wind kept blowing! It was a very patriotic service and rightfully so and everyone came away proud and I believe blessed.
A special hot dog luncheon was held afterwards with Nora Sea lock and Augie’s (Mary) Williams’ famous skillet fried hot dogs. We were very fortunate to hav& them served at the beauty pageant the fire department recently held and there they sold like popsicles in you know where! Also there was a lot of other very good food there as well, especially the deserts. You know I wonder if I couldn’t find some way to be a food critic for the paper?! Anyway, a lot of great fellowship was had by all and if you didn’t go because you didn’t really know anyone there, well you won’t until you do.
'Vftu know, come to think of it, I used to be right shy myself and would only speak to and “hang out” with just a few friends. I was almost forced into being more open when I got into management out to work and for the most part it’s been a change for the better. I say the for the most part because if I had still been the same old quite me I never would’ve had the courage to ask my wife out and well...you know being shy does have some benefits after all I reckon’. God bless you all and I’ll see you around the mountain!
