sible for at least three daytime burglaries that occurred in May and June in Rappahannock. In all cases, the perpetrators took mostly cash and rare coins, a trend that links those crimes to the burglaries in other counties.
Lt. Connie Smith picked up the trail of Guy and his accomplice at a Culpeper bank where they were exchanging coins for cash on June 21. Guy’s car matched witness descriptions of a vehicle present at the robberies, and Smith contacted the pair through their parents once she discovered their identities. Both elected to turn themselves in to the RCSO.
Currently, there is no estimate on the total value of the stolen goods, but as of this writing, Lt. Smith has recovered $9,000 in stolen coins.
