Senior Residential Counselor

Mental Health

Position with the Department of Mental Health/Mental Retardation to provide advanced clinical and supportive services to adults with serious mental illness or co-occurring serious mental illness and substance abuse in the County's Mental Health Supported Living program. Position will also provide clinical program oversight and provide daily work supervision to subordinate staff and student interns. Work schedule may require day, evening or weekend hours. Responsibilities include assessment and treatment planning, case management, training and community integration activities. Will be required to transport clients in program vehicles. Requires a Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related field plus three years related experience (six months administrative experience). A Masters degree in a related field and considerable experience (2-5 yrs.) in the provision of community-based mental health services preferred. Requires a valid driver's license. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background check, TB test, driving record check and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
