The Uhited Methodist Church in Sperryville has a long tradition of holding a packed Christmas Eve service. This year Pastor Leah DeLong will be facing the congregation, trying not to notice the cracked plaster and sagging support beam in the historic church. So for this Christmas offering, DeLong says that all of the funds collected during the Christmas Eve service will be used to help fund the repairs.
DeLong recalls opening the accordion doors separating a classroom hum the rest of the church to allow more room for those who attended the funeral of the former Chairman of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors Pete Estes.
