“There were a lot of people at the funeral,” she remembered. The ancient doors had been screwed shut in the past and as workmen worked at the doors, however, they discovered a bigger problem. The support beam holding the doors in place had begun to sag. After the funeral, volunteers built temporary struts out of 2x4s to keep the beam from sagging further.

An engineering consultant that DeLong hired to assess the problem, discovered that there was a bigger problem from above. One of the girder trusses is damaged which connect to a larger beam within the wall. Now the accordion doors do not open and a sag in the support beam is visibly apparent.
