training, but in exchange, participants must make a commitment to volunteer to facilitate restorative justice conferences, to act as a program representative in court, or to act as a surrogate victim (representing a crime victim who chooses not to directly participate in the program).
Volunteers must also complete Virginia State Police criminal background, Child Protective Services and Sex Offender Registiy checks, and be willing to meet twice a month. A training session will be held on Jan. 25 and 26.
