I wonder how he could love or forgive me of my sins like the bible says he does, then thoughts of all my failures, guilt and faults, they fill my head with a buzz. The Bible it says that it was on this night that Jesus, he came, sent by his heavenly father as a baby, only to one day on that cross bear our blame. And this thought above all the others it is what troubles me so, how could Jesus, with my life is so full of sin, say that he still loves me even though. Then as tears fill my eyes and white * guilt yet still in its cold hands holds my heart, I drop to my knees and finally I find a way to begin, I find a way to start. I ask God to forgive me, to cleanse me and to come into my heart, to guide me through this cruel world and from me never to depart. An as I kneel there crying like a child, on me God his mercy and grace he does bestow, for like cold iron shackles from an innocent man freed at last my burdens they have fallen away, no longer shall they pull me low. As I wipe the tears away and about me I do look, yet even then I know that the Lord, he has written my name in his holy book. Then I find that the snow, it has ceased to fall, around me it is still and calm, just as is in me, for Jesus, he now has my all. I rise to my feet again, my brow no longer in worry creased, for the worry it is all gone from me for with Jesus there, my heart it is at peace. Slowly I begin to find my way home once again, knowing God’s salvation I have gained, the cold by now, so bitter it should be but with Jesus now as my savior I feel no pain. In me now my Lord’s presence it does resound and grow, wherever you lead me my God, there I shall go. I can see my home now with the windows all aglow, oh thank you Jesus, for washing me in that glorious flow. As I walk into my house I shout “Daddy’s home,” all the while smiling to myself for joy, for now I know I can rest assured that one day in heaven I’ll get to worship Mary’s baby boy.
