Amber was bitten on the leg and it is not unusual to see some paralysis as a result. The first paralysis will be related to the effects of the venom. But when the leg swells up to several times its normal size pressure is created on nerves and that can also cause problems with movement. In most cases, this is temporary.
As for Amber, she’s recovering very slowly. The pain lasts a long time as any human who’s experienced a copperhead bite can tell you. But she’s determined to get past this and we’re happy to help!
The Amissville Methodist Church has put a prayer box outside the church. This is for the use of the community. If you’ve got a prayer request, please write it down and put it in the box. You can provide contact information if you’d like, or it can be anonymous. The church’s prayer chain will take up the request as will the congregation during the Sunday morning service. It’s a lovely way to reach out to the community.
