Chester Gap Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is holding registration for the Chester Gap Honorary Pageant 2007 to be held Saturday, May 26. Applicants should reside in Rappahannock or Warren County. Registration is $25, $5 per picture for photogenic. Must have photo at time of registration. Dates for registration are Tuesday, April 17, Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20 at the Chester Gap Fire Hall from 5-9 p.m. each night. Applicants for each group are as follows: Baby Miss, Wee Miss, Tiny Miss, Little Miss, Baby Mr., Tiny Mr., Mr. Future Fire Chief, Pre-Teen, Jr. Miss, Miss & Ms. Registration forms can be picked up at the Chester Gap Grocery Store. Hound Dawg Hoedown
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will hold its annual benefit on Saturday, June 2, starting at 6 p.m. at the SchoolHouse in Sperryville. The Square Dance and Dinner featuring music by The Morrison Brothers Band and food catered by E Cow will include a silent auction and awards to the finest square dancers and the finest outfits. Teach Life Stones Workshops

Ki Theatre is offering the annual three day Train the Trainer Life Stories Workshop. The dates are June 29 through July 1 in Washington, Virginia. Train the Trainer is designed for participants who want to facilitate life stories workshops, develop their own story-writing and teaching skills, help students and clients of all ages recognize and connect with their own stories. 21 Continuing Education Units are available' for those who register. The workshop is taught by Julie Portman, artistic director of Ki Theatre. Julie is a New York Obie award winning theatre artist and writer who has developed and taught the Life Stories Workshop process at Retreat Centers, for not for profit organizations, the United States Senate Staff and a breadth of educational institutions throughout North America. In the Piedmont area, 500 people have participated in Ki Theatre’s life stories workshops.
