Car Gathering

Front Royal
Owners of antique Hudson, Essex and Terraplane automobiles will display their cars on Sunday morning, May 13 at the Skyline Caverns, on Rte. 340 just south of Front Royal, Virginia.
The all-Hudson car show and flea market takes place from 8:00 a.m. to noon, and is the final event of‘Doc’s Apple Blossom Meet”, a four-day gathering of Hudson enthusiasts who journey yearly to Front Royal from as far away as Texas and Canada.
Doc’s Meet”, now in its 44th year, has been designated the 2007 Eastern Regional Meet of the Hudson-EssexTerraplane Club.
Three hundred participants and fifty to seventy Hudson-built automobiles are expected.
The first of many activities begins on the morning of Thursday, May 10, when a tour bus will transport attendees the Smithsonian’s UdvarHazy Center near Dulles Airport.

but this is their first show together. Both now feel that their style and ability with paint have matured to the point where a joint show will not only showcase their artwork, but give the viewer an opportunity to enjoy a lively and eclectic presentation.
“The adventure of plein art painting provides me challenge to pay with light and find truth in each changing moment as my brush gallops and dances with the atmosphere," says Malmgren.
Mary Cornish approaches her work with a style that goes beyond Realism. “I strive to imbue in my paintings that intangible aura, that allows the viewer to see and feel much more than the physical appearance of the subjects I choose to paint.”
From Ms. Malmgren’s Estonian heritage, the romance of northern lights are found in her brushes. Having a BA In Fine Arts from the Maryland institute College of Art and a B.Sc. From Towson State University, she has studied painting in many classes and workshops in the United States and Europe, and has taught art in several schools and held gatherings of artists for workshops and artistic critiques at her Pink Door Studio. Her works are in private collections in Canada, Europe and Asia as well as here in the U.S., and are included in the 50th Anniversary Art Album of the Society of Estonian Artists in Canada, EKKT, Winnipeg, Canada, 2005. An outdoors woman, Ms. Malmgren is continuously hiking, horsebackriding and camping in search of fresh images of wilderness for her outdoor, on location, plein air painting. Linda resides with her husband and three home-schooled children at Summerfield Farm in Warrenton, Virginia.
Mary Cornish grew up in Washington State, and began her training with Grace Wagner, and William Tartaglia. She attended the Northwest College of Art and began painting professionally in 1992. She slowly built her following through word of mouth, and then later, wider audiences through national and international exhibitions. She has won numerous awards for her artwork and ’ has had solo' exhibitions not only locally but throughout the United States, including Seattle, Washington, Honolulu, Hawaii. Ms Cornish’s animal and equine art has been selected for such shows as International Exhibition of Animals in Art, Art at the Classic, the Western States Expo in California, Women Artists of the West, and the American Academy of Equine Art in Lexington, Kentucky.
