the last three years are mandated: Technology Resource Teacher and 2 Special Education drivers. Also added were a Band teacher, Reading Specialist, 1st grade teacher, 2 Spanish teachers, a part-time EMT teacher, a part-time Latin teacher, and a car driver. These were all added to improve educational services for our children.
Note: We’re looking at a number of other ways to save additional taxpayer dollars. For example, we are: a) looking at installing an energy-efficient hot water heater to replace the hot water currently provided by the RCES oil furnace for the kitchen; b) considering use of 5 percent bio-diesel to reduce emissions and save maintenance (and hopefully increase MPG) costs, and c) following the Savings Through
Energy Management (STEM) team’s recommendation to replace 300 Watt incandescent bulbs at RCHS with fluorescent bulbs. We have also requested an “Efficiency Review” by the State to see if they have more ideas to save money.
