PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE ZONING CHAPTER

OF THE RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY CODE ALLOWING AUTOMOBILE SALES IN THE HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL DISTRICT

Upon application of a property owner, the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County, Virginia, shall hold a public hearing on Monday, June 4, 2007, at 7:00 PM at the Courthouse on Gay Street in-Washington, VA to consider the following text amendment to Chapter 170 of the Rappahannock County Code, Zoning (§170-1 et seq.):

Amend the zoning matrix in §170-36 E. by placing a “P” in the column for HC, Highway Commercial zoning district, for the use “Auto sales, repair and/or service”.

On May 16, 2007 these proposed amendments shall be considered by the Rappahannock County Planning Commission, which shall make a recommendation on the proposed amendments to the Board of Supervisors, and then shall be considered by the Board of. Supervisors, which may vote on the amendments on June 4. These amendments have been proposed by Willie and Cathern Smith in accordance with §15.2-2286 A. 7 of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended, and with §170-134 B. (1) of the Rappahannock Code.
