Puryear noted that she was looking forward to discussing ideas with the teachers for details of the upcoming year and said that her primary goal was to strengthen and tweak the existing programs.
She said she was very impressed with the concepts behind the community vocational classes such as Farm-TbTable, the EMT class, and the culinary class.
“I really like the extended classroom that takes kids out to places like an area farm or a building site,” she said. “Itfs great to see real world application of students.”
Puryear said that die considers herself a member of the team that exists to educate the children, which is one of the reasons that she was drawn to Rappahannock.
