Motorcyclist’s death

By Kevin Allen

Rappahannock News Staff Writer

The recent death of a 24-year-old motorcyclist on U.S. 211 involved a mix of youth, high-performance motorcycles and a certain mountainous stretch of highway that past traffic fatalities have proved to be a dangerous combination.

Justin Daniel Flory was riding his Honda motorcycle on the winding highway that leads from Sperryville to Skyline Drive when he lost control on a curve and drove into oncoming traffic on Aug. 19.

That momentary lapse made Flory the sixth motorcyclist to die on Rappahannock County roads since the beginning of2004. Brandon Prison, 20, died July 22 in the same stretch of U.S. 211 that claimed Fiery’s life near Shenandoah National Park
