The Rappahannock Nonprofit Center Networking Luncheon Series will resume on the first Wednesday of the month starting in September. The first luncheon will be held on Wednesday, September 5 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Nonprofit Center located at the Sperryville School house below Antique Tables Made Daily. This luncheon series is to provide nonprofits an opportunity to network, discuss concerns and issues they are facing and to share information and resources they have found to be helpful. An 8-hour classroom refresher course designed for those 50 and over will be offered at the Willis Chapel United Methodist Church, 1804 Zachery Taylor Hwy, in Huntly on Wednesday, September 5 from 8:30 am. - 5 p.m. Those completing this 8-hour course will receive a certificate which should reduce auto insurance costs. No Exams. The cost is $10.00 (to cover the cost of materials). Class size is limited. All drivers should bring their drivers license to class. Sept 7: RAAC Movies are Back
On Sept 7 at 8 p.m. the new season will open with The Queen” at The Theatre in Washington. Admission $6. Rated PG-13; 97 minutes run time. An intimate, revealing and sometimes humorous behind-the-scenes glimpse at the interaction between Her Majesty Elizabeth (Helen Mirren) and Prime Minister Tony Blair (Michael Sheen) foJkwving the death of Princess Diana. The two struggled to reach a compromise between what was a private tragedy for the Royal family and the public’s demand for an overt display of mourning. Helen Mirren won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in this film.

Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be having their Picking Party on Saturday, Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department at 6 p. m. All bluegrass and country bands are welcome. There will be a 50/50 raffle. The Fire Department Auxiliary will be selling refreshments.
