Chandler said she has had some clients who wanted to open restaurants in Washington, but did not want to deal with a septic tank. She said the scene in Washington will change dramatically after the town builds its planned wastewater-treatment plant and sewer system.
“With a lot of properties, a lot of people are just waiting for the new sewer to come in,” she said. Sperryville has five restaurants, compared to two in Washington, and that is because Sperryville has a sewer system, Chandler explained
There are several commercial properties available in the county she said, but that does not necessarily mean they meet the needs of people who are looking for business space.
